It depends why you are buying! Post Offices come in different shapes and sizes and can therefore fit different types of lifestyle. Fundamentally you need to decide if you wish to work in the business yourself and how much net profit you need.

You need to understand the trading performance of the business, as well as the details of the key costs. We can provide you with a checklist of what information you should ask for.

On average, it normally takes about 2 months from when you receive your application link to when you get appointed but this can be dependent on any legal work that may need to be completed. If you are buying an existing Post Office, it can then take between 4-8 weeks until your transfer day.
